Dr Oxley has specialist experience in private and NHS Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) including National and Specialist neurodevelopmental services.
Dr Oxley has a special interest in how ADHD can present differently in boys and girls and can present alongside anxiety and other conditions.
Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a common neurodevelopmental condition characterised by some or all of the following features: hyperactivity, inattentiveness and impulsivity. Children whose ADHD is undiagnosed or untreated can have significant difficulties at home and school if their needs are not met.
Dr Oxley offers high quality structured diagnostic assessment pathways for ADHD, bespoke for your child in line with the NICE guidelines and the DSM-5 (The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders 5th Edition). She takes time to listen and collate information from multiple sources including you, your child and school. Following completion of the assessment, Dr Oxley will explain the conclusion of the assessment and make recommendations for your child. You will also receive a detailed clinical report.
Dr Oxley is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Dr Oxley has over 15 years experience in specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) including leading neurodevelopmental assessment and treatment teams. Dr Oxley has a special interest in neurodevelopmental conditions, how these can present differently in girls and boys and their overlapping conditions such as anxiety and low mood which, if unrecognised, can have a significant impact on young people. Dr Oxley is warm, approachable and skilled. Dr Oxley understands the importance of developing positive relationships with you and your child and takes time to listen carefully to all views.
